The Ukraine Nightingale Project is looking for a host family for a Ukrainian woman and her young daughter fleeing from their war-torn country.
Originally from Kharkiv, Nataliia and her 10-year-old daughter, Yasya, have had huge upheavals complicated by their concern for the welfare of Nataliia’s parents.
Although the girl’s parents are divorced, Yasya’s father, a soldier on the front lines in Ukraine, provides what little funds he can to help his daughter.
With a university background in economics and human relations, Nataliia has worked most recently as a nanny and caregiver.
She is certified as a home health aide.
Nataliia has beginner English skills.
Yasya has been unable to attend school for seven months.
The host family, in some instances a couple or a single individual, must be willing to provide accommodation for up to three months and assist in the initial stages of adjustment and transportation.
